Highlights of the Tour:

• The town of Miri developed rapidly from a small village in the 1800s into the very cosmopolitan and modern town it is today largely due to the discovery of oil when it was first discovered in 1910. The first oil well, now known as the Grand Old Lady, sits on Canada Hill. The tour will takes you on a visit to the biggest Chinese Temple (Taoist) in South East Asia and continue on to the bustling Farmer's Market, commonly known as "Tamu", where you will see a huge variety of local vegetables, fruits and other food brought in by the natives and local farmers from around Miri. We will drive through the old town of Miri through the bazaars and then on to the local malls, where you may want to stop for some shopping for local souvenirs and handicrafts before returning to your hotel.
