Named after King George III of England, Georgetown, the capital of
the state of Penang, is a rich and interesting blend of the old
and new. This tour takes you to a selection of the major landmarks
of Penang and is a great introduction to the rich history and
diversity of the island. You will visit Fort Cornwallis originally
built by the British East India Company in 1808; the State Museum
which houses a fine collection of old photographs, maps, charts
and other historical relics; and Wat Chayamangkalaram, home of the
fourth largest reclining Buddha statue in the world.
